questions

So, I am sitting here at a Starbucks in Oceanside trying to figure out what I am going to do with this blog, as well as Attribute. Tomorrow I plan on buying a domain name, in hopes making things a little more legit. I tried to play with iWeb today, but I just can't find a template that I really like. I wish that program allowed its users to be a little more creative. Maybe I just haven't figured it out fully yet though.

I have so many questions I need to figure out and answer for myself. Do I want just a blog as my website? That seems to be popular these days in the craft world. Or do I want a full website with a simple blog to compliment it?

I really wish I could figure out how to be more creative with iWeb. I used to be so good with websites many years ago, but I have lost my spark with HTML since then. I wish the interweb was like my sewing machine. I am decent with that now.

meet matt

Meet Matt. We met while taking poetry at Cal State Long Beach. We rarely update our blogs.

That is how he used to look, but since graduation, he has been causing chaos on the mean streets of Orange County.

Being the crime fighter that I am, I must save the world one Matt villain at a time.

So, now he is back to the original Matt I met years ago...

...and his thumbs up are still better than mine. However, his glasses are not.

out with the old

I was determined to get a new computer. I was so tired of my Dell, and I could never do what I wanted easily with it. I never wanted to admit it, but I secretly knew Mac was the way to go. So, there I was, tax refund in hand, I headed down to the Apple Store in Fashion Valley. My mom and my buddy, Tommy, met me there and together I purchased my very first Macbook. Now I can do stuff like this:
And this!

This too!

the little shop that could

Well, I decided to do something new for my online store that gets very little traffic...

Free shipping for the month of March! Yay!

lent

Hopefully it is not too late to do something for Lent. I decided last minute, just now, that I will update my blog every day of Lent. Who says you need to give something up? Why not just add some goodness into your life? I will start with my blog.

Done and done.

a new crop - i'm so proud

I got down to business for a few hours this afternoon and I made a whole new crop of feather hair clips. These might be my favorites thus far.

And here are two that got me in a somewhat Valentine's Day spirit... even though I have mixed feelings for that so-called holiday.

For some reason, I find the oddest (and sometimes awkward) work spaces for myself. This time around, I have been using a plastic tub of old VHS tapes.

sunny 80 degrees to raining buckets

The weather was unbelievably hot yesterday, and today... it poured rain all afternoon and evening. I took this perfect opportunity to stay inside and do a little cooking and crafting. I made more feather clips and headbands. I even listed two of them on my etsy! Unbelievable.

crybaby

Until this week, I think the last movie I saw was Twilight during Thanksgiving week. This week I have see Gran Torino and Bride Wars. By the end of Gran Torino, I was completely sobbing in my chair. My friends looked at me like I was crazy, but that was the saddest movie I have seen in forever. And, c'mon, Clint Eastwood is always amazing. That flick made me remember how much I love going to the cinema to enter some one's creative vision and world.

Bride Wars, on the other hand, was definitely cute... but not typically what I would venture out to see. My friend really wanted to see it, and I can't pass up another outing to the movie theatre. There I was, by the end of the movie, with glassy wet eyes. Why do the craziest of movie keep driving me to tears.

I am silly.

no background necessary

I thought and thought about what I just did not like about this blog. It had to be the background image, or lack there of. So, I spent the past hour watching 90210 while creating a simple background image for this blog. It was light brown with a crosshatch pattern in it and completely horrid once I saw it on the blog.

Alas, we continue to have no background image. Then it hit me: what this blog is missing is frequent posts.

In other news, I can't stop thinking about the most delicious salad I ate at The Living Room in La Jolla this afternoon.
