late night starbucks run for internet

This lack of Internet is killing me. However, working under the green apron (Starbucks) has its perks-- free Internet.

I am all moved into the new house in Spring Valley. I just need a few more shelves and I can start getting back to creating! The whole reason I moved away was to hide out and create, but I haven't been able to do too much of that yet.

No time like the present...

you say goodbye. i say hello.

I have spent my whole life living in Oceanslime--err, I mean Oceanside. Except for the minor 4-year hiatus I took from that city when I went to college in Long Beach, it's been always Oceanside. My good friend James from college approached me a few weeks ago, told me he was moving for Orange County to San Diego, and asked me to move in with him, his wife Kyleen, and our buddy Pat. So, in less than two weeks, I am moving out of the house I grew up in to a house 50 miles south in Spring Valley.

I will be about 15 minutes from any artsy community in San Diego. Helllloooooo creativity central!

I haven't even began packing. I better get a move on...

I think I may have about one or two readers. I should have more--I will have more! I guess the fact that I haven't written in this blog in over three months is part of the problem. I haven't stopped crafting in that time though! I've been working on some jewelry. I have about 12 solid pieces of classy earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Slowly, I am getting them up on the store.

Speaking of the store, my cousin-in-law, Collette, bought one of my purses off me today. I was so excited to see an email from Etsy and PayPal about the order. She purchased one of my cutest beauties. It is a little springtime purse with turquoise sugar skulls and pinkish hearts.

Oh! And last week I finally sent the XL version of "i can count to pink" clutch to the wonderful Veronica. She asked me to custom design her a larger version of that clutch. It came out very roomy and cute. I hope she likes it.

Until tomorrow...

So, I woke up one morning last week and checked my email (first thing I always do when I wake up), and to my surprise, I sold something! Sh33 in Las Vegas bought this beauty which I've been trying to sell since forever. It was also the most viewed item in my shop. I am so happy that handbag has a new home. She said she loved the inside lining which is this fun green bandaid fabric. I through in an extra goodie in her package. I made that felt heart bandaid brooch to the right for her.

I have become re-addicted to felt recently. I can't stop making little felt hairclips and brooches. I also made a series of wristlets last weekend which all have different felt applique shapes on the front. Felt is definately part of my future.

I'm not sure if you know this, but I have been so disappointed with the cast of Project Runway. Season 4 really has no one that stands out to me. I love Christian, but all in all, no one can compare to those from Season 2.

So, I spent this afternoon running around Oceanside trying to find Season 2 of Project Runway on DVD. After going to Best Buy, Target, and Suncoast (only to discover it has shut down), finally Barnes & Noble proudly carried this DVD set. I was so excited.

I've been wanting to turn my old pairs of jeans into skinny jeans for a while, but I've been to scared. I put on my new Project Runway DVDs for inspiration and got to work on an old baggy pair of Sevens. The finish product is to the right. It kind of puckers in the thigh, but I am happy with my outcome.

My good friend and long lost twin, Benny, asked me to hem several pairs of cut-off shorts made from men's trousers. I've never sewn on such thick polyester fabric before and it is probably the easiest fabric ever to work with. I really wanted a picture of him wearing them so you could see how short they really are. He's got nice legs, he can pull it off.

hearts after valentine's

So I am finally going to use this blog. I promise.

Since my boyfriend left for deployment last month, I've been crafting now more than ever. I should write about it.

For some reason I haven't been in the mood to make anything big. Instead, the past couple of days, I've plopped myself in front of the television and cut out little felt hearts. I finally practiced some embroidery from Doodle Stitching instead of just browsing through all the cute projects like I always do.

I made four heart shaped hair snap clips and one brooch. Making these while watching Lost was my St. Valentine's Day treat to myself. And now that my boyfriend is somewhere on a ship somewhere in the middle of the Asian Pacific, these cute little hearts brightened my day.
